66 Birthday

My Dad turned 66 this week and he is a big fan of historical roads, cars and anything that includes them. I thought it was perfect to do a "Route 66" Birthday for him... considering this would be the year to do it! It was fun, I made this checker cake and we got him a classic car... that red truck! We also had road themed ice cream, Rocky Road, Toffee Terrace, and Cookie Ln. We had to make stickers for the last two, but it was really fun and turned out the way we planned!

Happy Birthday Dad! We love you so much!

The kids played like crazy! It is always exciting to play with cousins!

One thing I have to note, before I forget, was how Pais is really getting Mommy jealous. I was holding Hannah, who is 5 and Paisley started to tell her "My mommy, no Hannah" very sad and was holding out her hand to us. She was being held by her Daddy, but didn't want me holding anyone. Hannah then tried to reason with her by saying "It's ok, she is still your Mommy, see mine is over there" It was sweet of Hannah and it kinda worked to calm her down!

Ok this is how I made the cake... it was fun!

Homemade Granola

Here is Homemade Granola I finally decided to try and make. I really like it. We eat it alone, with milk or on yogurt! It is yummy!

Preheat the oven to 250 degrees.

Get a large cookie sheet out and fit the bottom with a sheet of wax paper

You'll need:

3 1/2 cup Old Fashion Oats

1 cup of sliced Almonds
If you like nuts also add a cup of any other nut you like

1/2 - 1 cup of Sunflower Seeds- unsalted
(depending on how many nuts you put in)

1/2 - 1 cup of Pumpkin Seed- unsalted

* I could only find salted, so I rinsed and dried my seeds before adding them in*

Mix all of the above in a bowl and add:

2tsp Ground Cinnamon

1tsp Ground Ginger

1/2tsp Ground Nutmeg

On low heat, melt in a small sauce pan:

8T Unsalted Butter

With a rubber spatula mix in:
1/2 cup Honey

Take off Heat and add to Honey & Butter:

2tsp Vanilla

Mix the Honey mixture with your Oats mixture and place on wax paper.

Bake for 55 Minutes and then let cool completely.

When it cools it will harden.
After it cools you can break up in clusters or smaller pieces, however you will most enjoy it!

If you are a fan of them, add a few Raisins or Craisins to the top after baking to mix in.

A Blissful Sunday

I need to record this date,

Jan 15 2012 Paisley Jo made it all the way threw church.

She went to nursery all alone and didn't cry for Mom or Dad.

Sacrament meeting was good, she got tired and wanted to sleep with her blanket on the floor, but fought that and instead went and got Edger.

She was as close to a delightful child at church as we have ever seen her.

We did end up leaving for the last 5 or so minutes,

but that was mainly because she was falling asleep and still walking!

I really just want to say GOOD JOB PAIS!

You were so good and you loved your class and the kids and your new teachers!

I am so proud of you!

Lets do the same next week too!

Forgotten Posts of 2011

2011 was a great year for our family. We didn't have a lot going on beside school, work and playtime with Pais, but here is a look at a few things I may have forgot to mention over the past year. . .

We had our first fire early on in March

We also went on as many walks as we could!

Dinner with Daddy at school is fun

We helped on the farm at Jake & Sue's house

We had our first camp out with the Gardner's in Pine Valley and our first bath with a friend!

We also went to a few rodeos

I took a class to help me with our camera and these are some of my shots!

We got a walker on our hands

I also found this amazing little feeder thing to put fruit in that we just loved!

Easter was exciting this year, cause Pais knew what to do

I baked a lot more this past year

Pais found that grass feels funny on her little toes

We celebrated Paisley Jo's 1st birthday and took a BUNCH of pictures!

We could do Paisley's hair in piggies finally!

We got to cheer Nana on at the marathon in Logan

Paisley realized how much she LOVEs the out doors!

We got two new friends!

Paisley now knows how much she likes her Daddy's truck

Kody got this good lookin' duck

We enjoyed the fall & leaves

Kody turned Pais into a "gamer"

I helped her find her inner-shopper

But in the end she would rather play with Ted than Mom & Dad

This year has been so fun with our growing girl. After doing this post, I realize without this little monkey, our lives would have been much more on the boring side this past year! We are excited to see what 2012 holds for us! Wish us luck!

Christmas 2011

Christmas in the McDonald home is the best! There are traditions that have always happened that will always happen! I love to Christmas and I love family traditions! We got to talk to Kaden Christmas morning, evening for him. It was fun and different then normal because we got to skype! Here are a few pictures of Christmas morning!

Christmas breakfast. . . ok we had sticky buns, (monkey fingers) but Pais had to snack a bunch that morning. This was the pretzel snack, she also had a chips snack and a marshmallow snack with Gage!

Kody made this frame and got this print for me. We got lots of fun and needed gifts, but this was a total surprise from my husband. I love it so much!

I love how these turned out! I decided to make our stockings for Christmas this year and the time was running out, so I whipped them all together today. . . that is right all in one day, with Paisley and Tate here! I felt like a wonder-mom as I finished!

I made them of burlap, tights that were too small for Pais, a suit jacket from the DI and extra material from my bin.Total cost of $8 for all three stockings plus a few more I am going to make forthe future!

Anderson Family Christmas Party

Craziness in the Anderson home hashappened again! This year our Anderson Family Christmas Party was ahit! All the grand kids played left/right gift exchange, it workedreally well, each cousin brought one gift and then they rotated themall and at random (or with the mothers help) the gift got to theright age group of kids! If you ask any of my sisters, that was thefun part!

After that the whole family played agame that we had to unwrap a BIG gift with winter gloves on. . . itwas funny! The gift was wrapped over and over in all kinds of paper(I used whatever I could find!) It ended as two boxes of assortedcandies for everyone to share.

We then had Grandpa & Grandma opentheir gift. We got them a few things that the grand kids will have toteach them how to use!

Then came Santa! He was so fun and weloved having him for a short time. The suit was hot so he had to go!All of the families had their picture with him. . . that is what I ammissing, so I will post those soon!

Christmas was fun with all the familythat was there, but we did miss 2 of our brothers and their families.Paul and Kat were planning on coming, but had an unplanned evenhappen and we are praying for them to recover soon.

The Tree Hunt

This year our tree hunt was an adventure we will all remember for a long time! Even though at times others were making our hunt hard, we had an amazing time all together and learned that as a family we can really do anything, and we can help others threw hard patches. We had such a wonderful time as a family!

Our tradition is to go out on the hunt and after everyone finds their trees we have chili and hot chocolate... it is always so yummy and warms us right up!

Where are the kiddos you ask?!

After we found our trees and were headed down the mountain the kids were having chips and both fell asleep after asking for more! They played so hard and wore themselves right out!

They slept the whole way home and then woke up ready to take more pictures!

Gage & Paisley LOVE each other so much and had so much fun together! We can't wait for Christmas!

Paisley Jo now goes to nursery! She went for the first time today and did pretty good all on her own. Kody and I both took turns with her, but she didn't really care that we were there!

October is Over...

We love October! Kody and I celebrated our birthday in a different way this year then the norm.

Steph & Nick got married on our birthday. That morning, with my wonderful husbands help, we finished their pictures up outside the temple and planned to do just a few after the wedding.

Earlier I received a text about 6 asking me to get my sister Sue's camera from work. . . . they were unexpectedly in the hospital ready to have her little baby. She wasn't due til the beginning of November! I helped with that and then told Steph that Kody may be taking the rest of the pictures if Sue kept going at the rate she was.

Kody & I had a quick birthday lunch together and then split ways again. At about 3:30pm this little man decided he wanted to share his birthday with his coolest aunt and uncle! Tate Kim Larson was born Oct 21 2011. He is the cutest, smallest little man and he is loved so much by his amazing Mom & Dad! He is also adored by his many cousins, but non quite as much as miss Paisley, who at every chance will kiss him or help him with his binky or touch his "ittle toes"! We love you Tate!

I knew it would be a busy day, so I made chicken pot pies the day before to have the next night for our birthday dinner. Plus our great friends Jordan & Whit and their Levi were coming from Vegas to stay the night. Paisley and Levi have so much fun together! We had them and Adam & Mollie over for a good old get together. All the kids did really well together and it was so so fun to catch up and spend time together again! We didn't get a group shot :(

Overall, Kody and I decided it was one of the busiest days we have had in a while, plus our birthday, but it was memorable and that is how a birthday should be!

Now on to HALLOWEEN!!!

Our little family LOVES Halloween! I decided to make my favorite Halloween Dinner and had it ready for Kody to put in the oven while I was still at work. Then when I got home we could have dinner all together before the celebrations began!

We planned on going to the ward trunk or treat that started at 5:30pm (I thought 6:30) I got off work at 6 and headed home quick to get Pais in her costume and head over. When I got home dinner smelled GREAT! Kody did perfect! He told me he would help get her ready then he needed to go finish a paper, so he was going to miss the celebrations and maybe dinner...

Pais and I (and Ted) went to the trunk or treat to find only 4 cars and ours... I had bought a bunch of candy too! We went to those few cars and that actually was perfect for Paisley. She thought the kids that were still there were so funny and she kept telling me "Monkey, Monkey!" One of the kids was a monkey with a full face mask and all, and I think I was more scared then she was!

We went home with our 6 new pieces of candy and found Kody had come back! He decided to take the chance of writing his paper at home so we could spend the time together! We had our yummy dinner all together and Paisley ran around saying "candy candy candy!"

This post is for my wonderful husband! We recently celebrated 4 years of being married. I wanted to remind him of all the quick pictures of the filler things that we have done so far with our time together! A lot of these pictures are with a phone camera or just real fast so we wouldn't forget what we were doing! Happy 4years Kod, I love you!

The first picture we took after your mission. I drove from Snow to see you for the weekend! Longest drive ever I think, but the best weekend in St. George I had ever had!

We went to the D and sat the camera on the car for this shot. Super cute!

These three pictures were from trips we had between St. George and Ephraim, the sunk house was our favorite... remember the doorbell!

The weekend I moved to St. George! That was a good choice!

St George rodeo, it was packed, we could barely find a seat that wasn't taken. It was fun!

The day I went to the temple for the first time. I was so happy to be there with you! And the pizza place on our honeymoon- the only restaurant on the mountain! It was good pizza though!

Our first tree hunt! We found a perfect small (tiny) tree for our little place!

Us moving to Logan! We really prayed about that decision! We were blessed for it too!

Us as Aggies

We went to Temple Square and it was too windy outside, so we took this inside. We were in SLC for a mission reunion.

Our first, but not last race together. I hated it! I was mean to you and you just laughed and made me keep going. After I remember saying I had fun and you just laughed again... also member that little (like 8 year old) that stayed with us the whole way, and then he beat me!

White Pine hikes aren't over, we'll go on them again with everyone as soon as our kids can go!

I love fishing with you!

Our second tree... this one we had to get before we had the truck and we were in Logan. Remember the car!

We had Julie Hess take our family pictures for my parents this summer and here they are... Get ready it is a big family! Thanks Julie, we all love them.

We also had Sue's baby shower yesterday. We are so excited for her and Jake! I don't think I have seen anyone so cute as a pregnant girl as she is... it fits her! Congrats Sue!

15 Month Checkup

Paisley was pretty funny at her 15 month checkup. She knew where we were and what we were going to be getting there. She told her nurse "Hi" and went down the list of animals that she knows and their sounds and then said "Bye". If only that was all we had to do!

Some things she is up to these days
Counting to three
Naming lots of animals and their sounds... we'll get that all on video and share it! She sings lots of songs all on her own.
Some of our favorites are; I love to see the Temple, The "Itchy Itchy" Spider, Patty Cake (with extra "Roll It"), and Monkey's on the Bed.
Big on giving hugs with a tilted head. (You can't tell that no!)
Tells us "Night Night" when she's ready for bed.
Can point out anyone with a Hat, a Mustache and Boots on and then asks for Jake!
Will tell you lots of body parts including where her mustache is.
Pushes her "beep beep" (doorbell on her play house) and says "Hello?"
Tells Steve "A Cue. A Cue" on Blue's Clues.
Also says "I know, I know!" from Cat in the Hat.
Hugs Teddy and tells him "Bood Boy" (Good Boy)!
When you ask her who she is, she says "Paisy" or "Jo" or "Donald" she is getting it!
Asks for Sue Sue and then immediately looks up the stairs and says "Jake?"
Kisses Sue Sue's baby!
Asks for a peach when she wants fruit.

Kody and I decided the other day that she is so crazy, funny and outgoing (kinda opposite of us) because we just laugh at how cute she is. She has lots of friends at church that I am sure would be able to learn more if she was more calm! We love her so much though and are so glad she is our crazy girl!

Kody captured my favorite time of the day on video. Every night we sing in her room, this time we were on the couch, but she sang with me like she always does. I love it so much!

Our Summer

This summer went so fast. Juggling work, home and play-time made it fly by! The annual Hike across Pine Valley was a few weekends ago. This year Kody Jordan Adam and AJ went. They had fun, killing and eating rattle snake, wild berries, and talking about old times. These guys are more like brothers then friends! They are thinking of either doing a late one next year, or doing two so Kaden can come! Crazy he'll be home that soon!

Kaden carved this in the tree a few years ago. Even though he couldn't be there, he still was!

The Perfect Day

I never really thought there could be a perfect day, but this last weekend we had a St George weekend. Kelly and Kennedy were able to come with us and boy did they make it fun! The weekend consisted of swimming in the backyard, painting nails, playing with hair (which Paisley i becoming a master at), swimming, walks to the shaved ice stand, shopping, swimming, swimming, swimming, going to 25 main for cupcakes, enjoying the Cox Box and Pine Valley, oh and did I mention swimming!

Our perfect day was the day before Kody went hunting. We started out swimming in the morning. Lolo & Lola grabbed a quick lunch for us all and met us at the park for a picnic. It was perfect out under the trees. We were right next to a carousel ride so after our picnic we went for a ride or two. Then for ice cream at Judd's. Paisley loved it, but not as much as we all loved watching her eat it! Grandma and Grandpa Cox told us of how they went to the same Judd's as kids and then Kody did too. It is really neat that it is still there and busy.
We then went and washed off all the sticky melted ice cream at the splash pad and back home for some more swimming! It was the Perfect Day! So fun to just relax and enjoy the wonderful area we live in!

Camping!

Kody and I loved camping before we were parents, but the one time we tried it after Pais came was a total failure. We were nervous for this camp-out, but more excited cause we hadn't been for so long. It was a success! Paisley was so fun and so good. Her first nap was on the side-by-side four-wheeler, but after that she napped and slept at night in the tent! We had such a fun time! The day before going out we went swimming with Derek, Kenzee and Gage. . . that is what these shots are of! Cutest kids ever ha!!

These two cuties were sitting in Papa and Nana's chairs! They love each other so much!

Kody made a bundle bow while we were out. It shot really well. . . you can see the arrow he made flying in the air if you look close! Nice work Kod!

Jody took Kody to show him where some good spots to fish were. It was fun to tag along, cause every spot they stopped, Kody caught a fish!

We got rained on, I should say poured on! But it worked out and we were able to still have a great time! We had everyone there, even Kaden, but we forgot to get a big family picture. We also had a rough road going out because of all the rain. Papa Joe drove us out and it was a good thing he was behind the wheel. We made it through the hardest areas like it was a paved road. . . ok more like a road paved by 5 year olds, but it was fun from the drive in to the drive out!
Camping with Paisley we can now say is a success!

We love Pine Valley!

We went up to Pine Valley for our Cox family Reunion! It was so fun! I got a bunch of pictures of us in the middle of our marshmallow-gun fight... somehow we had two sides... anyway, I didn't get many pictures of anything else, and we did a lot of things. We played "Minute to Win it" and Kenzee set it up so perfectly. It was fun to see so many family members and get to play and have fun at the Cox Box!

We did a lot of things that are traditions in Kody's family. We had the pole climb, there is money attached along the pole and how ever high you climb determines how much you get. We also had a coin find in the sawdust for the kids, as well as a new, (I hope) tradition, we got to listen to some of Grandma & Grandpa Cox's experiences from when they were kids. We had so much fun and are so happy anytime we get to see Lolo & Lola!

Weekend at Island Park

We had our Anderson Family reunion at Island Park ID this year. It was really fun. The cabin was big enough to fit everyone! We went horseback riding, boating (on a small lake), Hiking, Fishing, hot tubbing, and had a few campfires! It was so fun to see all the family and enjoy real time together! Here are a few pictures of our fun time. . .

Sue and Jake made dinner for everyone the first night and they brought a special cake to tell everyone what they are expecting . . . BLUE is for BOY!

We LOVED the fishing! Paisley wasn't scared of the fish, like I thought she would be. . . she poked the fish in the eye and said "eye". I couldn't tell her no, she was right!

We have some pictures of Paisley on the horse too, but they aren't on my camera. . . so I am going to have to track them down! Here is just a little glimpse at that part of the vacation!

Ok so Sue and I had Jake and Kod get the fish off the line for us cause in all reality. . . that is the nasty part of fishing! This one we decided we could do it on our own. . . it took a little more time then if we were to have them do it, but we did it eventually and we didn't kill the fish! Yay for us!

Trevor and Noah caught this beauty together after Trevor caught Noah's pole (Noah thought tossing the line in meant to toss the whole pole in... Trevor got it!). Nice fish boys!

After we left the cabin the last day we took a detour to Mesa Falls. It was amazing! Here are a few shots from there. We loved it!

I love how big Paisley is getting, but I am ready for her to slow down. I have started to work full time again and now that we don't have the time we did have together I feel like I am missing out. But there is an up side to it all, because I am at work, Kody is at home with Paisley and he gets to spend time with her.
They love each other so much! He sends me pictures and lets me know that they are going to be in to see me for lunch when she wakes up, or that she has said something funny so I don't feel so left out. I am glad this is just our summer schedule and just temporary, otherwise I would cry every time I left for work. I do love my job. I get to go in earlier then we open to do all my paperwork and finish what I didn't the day before. I work for really great people that understand how important families are. Plus my job is fun! I just have to remind myself that this is the last scheduled time I am going to work outside the home for a while so I need to have fun and enjoy it!

St George Visit!

We went to St George for another visit a little while ago and Paisley got to swim with her big cousin Gage! She loves him so much.

When we left Gage and everyone else we love in St George, Paisley asked for Gage every time we turned around. . . she misses him when they are apart.

These are some of the fun things we do at our house. . . snuggle our over-sized lamb. . .

Sometimes we stand on our toys. . .

And on special occasions, we stand on our toys with one leg! When she is done she always dismounts and says "Ta Da" even if she falls. . . Silly Girl!

I LOVE watching these two together! Paisley is just playing with her control, but aren't they funny!

Paisley's 1st Birthday

Paisley was so excited about her "Pretty in Pink" birthday party . . . as soon as she saw all her favorite people in our backyard, there just to play with her!

Paisley had the cutest audience encouraging her to "blow"!

Paisley was so dainty about digging into her cake. . . she didn't want to get messy. As soon as she started though, she didn't stop!

Yummy yummy cake. . . thanks mom for making it just for me!

Paisley got this cool Leap Frog Train from Lolo and Lola Cox . . . she LOVES it! She also loves all the soft, fluffy, girly gifts she was given . . . everyone knows her so well!

We took a family photo on her actual birthday and she even sported the "I am 1" finger!

We decided to have just a quiet actual birthday, especially after we had so many family and friends over for her party the day before. For her big day, we decided to do some of Paisley's favorite things. We started with a walk and some playtime at the park.

We love playing on the big kid toys!

And then we walked home and had taco's (tomatoes, avocados, meat and tortillas) some of Paisley's favorites and had one cupcake saved for her to enjoy. I took pics of that too, but I need to find them! Happy birthday baby girl. We are so happy you are in our family and we love you so much!

I have been telling myself this for a few weeks now, just to get it in my mind, but Paisley is 1 year old in one week from today! I can't believe it. Our lives as a family have changed and my life as a mommy has been so blessed. Paisley is the best baby girl ever. Here are a few pictures of her in her "I am 1" outfit.

All this info is mainly for me.... they are things I don't want to forget so yes I am blogging them... kind of like scrapbooking, but not as cool... I can't believe how fast time goes. I love this little monkey more then I ever thought I could. She has us wrapped around her finger. This past year has been so fun, and I hear the next is even better! We are so excited! Happy birthday Paisley, we love you so much!

May 22nd, 2010 4:15 AM Paisley was born! 7lbs 1oz and 19½ inch long. She has long toes, longer fingers and hair!
May 23rd first day home-and first time meeting Teddy. It went well, Paisley made a funny sound and Teddy went crazy!
Paisley's Bilirubin count was too high(15) so she was on lights from day 3 to day 7.
First doctors appointment was when she was 6 days old. She had already grown, weighing in at 8 lbs 1oz and was 20¼ inch long.
Paisley's belly button was cute 8 days after she was born.
She had her first real bath May 30th after playing with cousins!
Paisley first smiled at our faces at 4 weeks 5 days (June 24th)
July 4th Paisley was blessed by her Daddy. It was beautiful.
Paisley had 7 hours of sleep, not waking at all on July 8th when she was 6 weeks 5 days. I didn't sleep most of the night, I was too nervous about her really sleeping.
Paisley's first bottle 7 weeks 5 days (July 15th) Daddy gave it to her when mommy had to go beck to work. She did great and ate it so fast!
We got Paisley's 2 month Shots today... not too bad. She cried a little then fell asleep July 22nd
Paisley first rolled over on August 2nd at about 2½ months. That was from belly to back.
She rolled from back to belly on September 11th about 3½ months old.
Paisley had formula for the first time and hated it September 7th She hasn't had any since.
We made it all the way in church without having to leave any class for eating or crying! September 19th
Went in for Paisley's four month checkup on the September 13th. Everything is good! A little crying the Dr thinks she's a little sensitive to new things and said she was probably colic at first. She is doing better now though and wants us to rotate her head so she doesn't have a tilt in her neck.
September 21st Paisley laughed at Teddy jumping!
September 28th Paisley got her 4 month shots. She was so happy looking at the toys in the office and then came the shots... She has been asleep all day.
October 7th She knows she has Toes!
October 11th Paisley also realizes she likes her thumb! Not really to suck, just to play with and watch move all over above her!
Paisley's first tooth came in Friday October 15th and second tooth popped in on Mommy and Daddy's birthdays on October 21st
Paisley had cereal for the first time on October 19th and laughed the whole time! She maybe ate one tablespoon out of the four tablespoons we made for her!
Halloween Paisley was a Hamburger, Daddy was a drink and Mommy was a box of fries with Teddy as a toy... together we were a McDonald's Happy Meal!
Paisley started really crawling at 5 ½ months, she didn't really ever scoot, she just rocked for about two weeks before trying out her moves!
Thanksgiving 2011 Paisley enjoyed her favorite baby food, Sweet Potatoes!
Paisley sat up on her own without tipping at 6 months.... after crawling!
Paisley snaps her fingers, only the right hand. If she sees someone do it she does it too, and it is louder then my snap!
Paisley stands up to everything now days! She walks along it all and only once has she let go and taken an actual step- Christmas 2011
Paisley went to her first rodeo on January 21st, 2011. We put cotton balls in her ears and then her head band over her ears so she would leave them in... She had a lot of fun cheering and clapping her hands for everyone.
Teddy was Paisley's first word, then Mama and Dada and baby at 9 months old.
Paisley laughed at her favorite cartoon Pocoyo today. It was one where they scared each other by saying "Boo" She says boo too now, but instead of "Boo" it's "Bee". She says it to mom, dad, and Ted. Her favorite place to play boo is in the tub! If we say "Pica" she says "Bee" (Boo).
At the store she has everyone's eye. She waves so cute and says "Hi"
Paisley walked for real conference weekend (April 3) at 10 ½ months old. We had been practicing for about two weeks before this, but she only took, at most, 8 steps then.
Paisley says “shh” with her finger on her mouth, she knows where her nose is and says “no” when pointing to it or anyone elses, and she also tells Teddy “no no” while pointing at him if he barks or takes her toys. She also only drinks from a bottle or straw cup and snuggles with anyone at bedtime. 11 months old
Paisley is only using a straw cup.... no more bottle. She says "DUCK" really loud and clear when she sees her duck. She is also really good at going up and down the stairs, on and off the couch and bed, and she says "Up" and "Down" and knows what they mean. Paisley also loves her daddy especially first thing in the morning when he is still sleeping. She will crawl on him and give him kisses over and over.

Pinewood Derby

Last Saturday we had a ward party and Pinewood Derby. Kody has been working really hard on finals so he needed a break. After studying that morning he decided to make his derby car. Mater was made in about 4 hours... pretty good ha! All the kids at the activity were cheering for Mater, it was really cute and I think Kody was excited they liked it and that they knew who it was!. The best thing that happened that night was after his truck raced, he went to pick it up off the track and one of the ladies from our ward asked him, "Did you build that all by yourself?!" He came back just laughing! Good job Kody! We loved it!

Paisley loves her new shoes... that is one of her new words too. We just thought we'd remind everyone that it is supposedly sandal weather. I guess we may have to wait til St George to really enjoy them!

Paisley and I get to take Kody dinner sometimes when he has his late classes... this is one of those nights.

This is the last time it snowed in Logan... about a week ago. Paisley did have her tongue out too and we were singing "If all the rain drops were lemon drops and gum drops" She does a good job with that song!

I can't believe that tomorrow She is 11 months old... and that means in one month my baby will be a year old. It has gone so so fast. I can't believe it. Paisley is growing up so quickly. She falls asleep all on her own now. I just give her a bottle, her pillow and blanket and she will snuggle on the couch and fall asleep. I told Kody the other night that I was teaching her to fall asleep to movies like I do... She is so amazing and smart. I love being her mom!

We had a wonderful conference weekend! Paisley luckily took a nap half way through the first session so we got to see most of it... as you can see she is a busy body!
We are so grateful for the chance we have to be her parents, to be married to each other and to be together as a family for time and all eternity, promises we were given the day we were married.

Paisley is keeping us on our toes! Here are the things she can say and do:

says "baby" and it almost sounds like "my baby" but who knows...
says "Teddy" but usually just "Teh Teh" and mom and dad
blows kisses and waves goodbye
claps for herself or anytime she hears "good job" even from the t.v.
folds her arms for prayers and sometimes helps with the prayers by yelling
snaps her fingers... really well actually, everyone is shocked when they see her do it
signs "more"
gives kisses, especially to her baby
she can "be soft" to Ted too, but that is a work in progress
goes up all the stairs, but only down three of them
takes 3 - 8 steps and then crashes

We are so proud of our little monkey! She is crazy, but so fun. We are in the stage that anything we do she does too! The other day Kody was sitting on the couch and had his arms folded and she did the same and then laughed and clapped for herself. It was so cute. It is so fun to see her little mind connecting all these new things!

Today is a day to celebrate... Today marks the four year anniversary of Kody coming home from his mission. It is crazy it has already been that long. It's so fun to look back at these pictures and have him tell his side of what's going on. I was really proud of him when he was out on his mission, for serving as he did and I am so glad now for the things that he learned during those two years, plus he still gets to talk to people from his mission and we are pretty close to some people he baptized who now live in Utah, so it is fun to see the fruits of his labors! Here are a few pictures to commemorate the big day.

Spring is on its way!

Spring is on its way... we had one day that looked like it was here and spent all afternoon outside! We were planning on just staying in the backyard, but Teddy decided otherwise. He found a friend and took off! I'm sure I looked like the crazy lady on the block chasing him around the block and back into our backyard with Paisley laughing at him as she bounced up and down in my arms. Because of her laughing I didn't cry, if she wasn't so happy about the situation I probably would have broke down. My wonderful sister Sue called me right in the middle of the whole ordeal and luckily she was about a block or two away and she helped me out! Thanks again Sue!

Paisley was so funny, she has only touched grass twice now and the walking thing will come faster, I think, if we can spend more time outside... she doesn't like how it feels!

Teddy's friend for the day broke his leash and ran away from his house. After we caught them both I called the number on his collar and he had to go home, but they did get to play for a little while.

The past few weeks have been pretty long for us. The day we came home from St George our nieces McKayl and Shandlie came to stay with us. Paisley LOVED having them! She loved it so much that every night she fought bedtime so much... she would flop onto her back and just start laughing... after the first few nights I decided to have the girls wave goodbye and go in the other room so she thought that they were gone. It was really fun to have them with us.
While they were here Paisley had a lot of time to practice her walking skills... Yeah crazy ha, she has taken only three steps at a time, but she does it all day long! Here are a few pictures of her attempts!

Kody and I enjoyed a fire this last week in our backyard. Paisley was mesmerized! We are planning on lots if these the next several months... that is one good thing about this time of year, the snow is gone, so we can make the fires, but the fire is warm so we can handle to be outside. I love spring!

Paisley and I were able to spend a week in St George. We got to play with Papa Jo and Grandma Jill without Daddy for a few days. Paisley loves her grandparents! Kody came down a few days after us and that is when we took most of these pictures. We love it there so much! Here are a few pictures to share what we were up to!

These two pictures were taken by our friend AJ. I was so excited to have these done... He is amazing at taking pictures and we were so glad he took the time to do these for us. Thanks AJ and Cheyenne and CONGRATULATIONS! (They are getting married!) We'll share more of these ones when we get them!

Paisley decided that she was the big kid at the park. She was trying everything out for the first time... no one else was there so we were enjoying all the toys. Call us crazy, but in Logan when it is above 50 degrees you are out in shorts and enjoying the sun! We just had to make it over to the park!

Then just Paisley! It was a shock, but she still liked it! The one below: Paisley was testing out the bells, I love this face... When we were looking at these pictures on the computer after we took them she was sitting on my lap and saw this one and made the face at me again... I loved it!

Paisley loved the swing, see her holding her dolly as she felts the wind rush threw her hair! ( I love how it is wispy in the back!)

We went swimming for the first time... She absolutely LOVED it! As you can see in this last picture, she did not want to get out!

We really wish that we lived there, but because we cant (yet) we'll admire it in pictures, visit in on Skype, and actually go there as often as gas prices will let us! Thanks family again for all the fun... we miss you sunny St George!

I have decided that this year I am going to become more of a cook. I know how to do the basics and sometimes I will venture out and make something creative, but my goal is to improve in the following skills:

planning out our meals
knowing cooking terms
mixing complementary spices
baking healthier foods (not just treats)
making more things from scratch

If you have a really good recipe that you just love or one that you want to try but haven't I'd love to try it! I love cooking buddies too..I have been looking for good blogs too, for ideas on what to make... If you have any let me know. Thanks!

I love my family so much and I feel so blessed to have such a fun bunch to spend my time with. Ted is always full of energy and runs all over like crazy and that makes Paisley laugh so hard. She is so happy and fun! She is clapping and dancing all the time. She goes crazy when her daddy comes home. Just the door opening gets her going! I love my amazing husband. Kody works so hard in school and helps with Paisley as much as he can. He is so wonderful to do anything around the house or go get things at the store. He does so much for our family and I am so glad he is my other half. I love this bunch! We were just having fun with the camera today and this is what we got!

Rodeo Time

Last night we went with Jake and Sue to the Ogden Rodeo to watch Jake ride saddle bronc. He did really well scoring an 88 after his horse stalled in the shoot for about 15 seconds. He's holding 1st place as of last night. But Kody was helping Sue and I take some pictures... We are taking a photo class and last night was a great chance to practice! Here are some of our favorite shots...

This was not Jake, but Sue took this one and I thought it needed some recognition... Nice Job Sue, you really caught the moment of that poor cowboy falling on his face. Good work!

Ok so we didn't get many picture of Thanksgiving Day. We went out to my parents house with most of my siblings. Here Paisley is sporting her 2nd outfit of the day... I'll let you guess what happened to the first one. Aunt Sue was nice enough to change her!

Paisley went shopping with Grandma Kathy for Thanksgiving and loved the cart so much! This hat I know is a little goofy, but it was so so so cold out and style comes after warmth!

I love this little girl so much! Paisley is moving like crazy. She is so funny to watch move all over the floor. She started with a scoot, but even then she could get where she wanted, She is so fun and growing like crazy! She is 6 months today... I can't bieleve she is that old already!

Days that we get to spend together are so fun! The picture below was taken when Paisley and I were snuggling for a nap. She was slowly waking up and then falling back asleep. I could have put her in her crib, but she was too cute!

TWO little sharp teeth! On Friday October 16th Paisley's first tooth came in. The second followed shortly on Monday of the next week. It wasn't too bad when they came in, just a little fussy. But then she found she can bite... that is the unfun part!

Paisley also started solids... she is liking them and it is fun to feed her... Teddy loves it too. He is always trying to clean her up. We love this bib too from Aunt Kenzee. She made it! Cutest ha!

October events!

Kody and I celebrated 3 years together on the 12th. We went up Hyrum canyon and built a fire and made these burgers.... they were so good! We forgot drinks so we picked some up at the McD's on the way... that's why those are there. The burgers were yummy! Paisley got to play at her cousins house while we went out. We had a lot of fun! We also got a new video camera for our anniversary, so we'll have to post some videos of any fun things we do in the next few days!

I can't believe it, but our baby girl is 3 months old today! She is so fun, and is growing so big! Life with Paisley is so much different than I thought it would be, different in a good way. Top things I didn't expect are #1 I know how many diapers we have gone threw in a day, I know if she has burped or spit up and I now time my day out in 4 hour increments. #2 Baby talk! I love the sound of her shouting, she coos and talks in her own language all the time, especially when we are sitting with her but not looking at her, she wants all the attention. #3 The most simple thing will make her happy. We went for a walk today and she just wanted to look up at the trees moving. She loves being held out so she can see what we see, and she loves people to get down real close and talk to her, it makes her giggle and smile. #4 She is a workout baby! When Kody is working out she loves to sit in her chair and watch his arms go all over! She loves movement. #5 We all love to sleep! Paisley sleeps from about 9:30 or 10:00PM til 6:30 or 7:00AM sometimes with a wake up at 3:00AM but only about once a week. She also loves to snuggle with her daddy while I get ready in the morning. They are always smiling and chatting when I come in the room. They are my favorite two people! #6 The smallest smile makes my heart grow. Every day I realize how lucky I am to be a mom! This girl has her parents wrapped around her little finger. She is amazing, every day I get to spend with her I count as a blessing. My 3 month old is so fun!

St George Trip and Hike

Paisley was so cute at the Cabin. She loves laughing with Lola (Grandma Cox)

Paisley was looking at her bird for ever in the car... there wasn't much else to do! She is the best little girl in the car thanks to her bunny (I hope you can see it too) She got it from her Grandma and Grandpa McDonald and she LOVES it!

Kody wasn't able to get many pictures of their annual backpacking trip (he dropped the camera in the stream while filtering some water...haha) but here's a few of them. He went with his brother Kaden, brother in law Derek, and friend Adam. They camped in this meadow on top of Pine Valley Mountain near St. George.

Paisley's first 10 days

Here are a few pictures of Paisley's first 10 days... that's right she is already 10 days old! We have been so blessed the last 10 days too- thank you to all or family and friends for the calls and visits. Paisley is the most amazing baby ever. She is so sweet, I catch myself staring at her all the time, amazed that she is ours. Thanks again to all of you!

We love it when she is awake- you can't really see in this picture, but we think she'll have blue eyes- they are really light gray now.

Hannah has been waiting for months to do this- she is already in love with her new cousin!

Paisley had Jaundice and was on the Billybed for the first 4 1/2 days. We couldn't hold her or snuggle, only when she was eating or getting a diaper change. We are grateful we had it to get her better, but even happier it is gone!

Paisley's uncles all came to visit- AJ, Adam, and Jordan. Ted also was sneaking into the picture! Daddy has the best friends ever! Thanks guys for coming so far to see Paisley!

Our Birth Story

Paisley's birthing story... On Thursday May 20th we had our weekly appointment and our doctor told me she was going to strip the membrane to help move things along, I was 80% and at a 3+. I would normally go back to work, but after our doctor told us to stick around town close, we thought we'd take the time to get ready. We went home and made a play list of songs to take to the hospital, we made sure our bags were ready, even though we had them ready about a week and a half before. I also cleaned up the house and made a yummy dinner.
I thought that that night I was feeling something different, but I think I was just excited that I couldn't sleep. We got up early the next morning and I took a shower. I could kinda feel what felt like braxton hicks, but they felt just like they had the rest of my pregnancy. We left the house about 10:00 am for a walk. We live on 3rd West and we walked all the way to campus, which is on 10th East. We had many potty breaks and took the long flight of stairs with some pressure on my step to encourage our baby to come! On our walk Kody and I talked about what name we thought was best. We were still stuck on Taylee or Paisley. We had pros and cons of both. We stopped a few times too cause my braxton hicks were stronger then I thought and I had to let them pass a little before I could walk comfortably.
As we got closer to the house we realized that we had walked non stop for about 3 ½ hours and fast, Kody and Teddy made sure of that. It was a beautiful day so we took advantage of that (it was rainy for almost two weeks prior to this day).
When we got home we made lunch and I sat down with a big glass of water. I was so sore, but it didn't feel sore from the walk it was in my hips and I only felt it when I was sitting. At about 3:00 I was just a little worried about the baby cause I hadn't felt her move as much as I normally did. We called Becky (my sister in law and Doula). She said if you have any questions just go in and check it out, so we did. We got in about 4:30 and because it was a Friday the office was already closed so they sent us to labor and delivery to get checked out. It was kinda cool to go there and not have to be scared about having the baby in the hall cause it was just a check up! They hooked my belly to the monitors and found the baby's heart. She had a little slower sounding heart rate so they got a vibrator thing to see if she was just sleeping... she was! As soon as they touched her head with that she went crazy punching! The nurse checked and said I was at a 4+ and called my doctor. I found out the braxton hicks that I was feeling were actual contractions. The nurse told me to tell her if I thought I was feeling one, and to tell her. I said, I “think this is one” and she said “Yep, that was the end of a contraction.” They really weren't so bad, just a little stronger than what I was feeling months before. Because my doctor was on call that night she told the nurse I could get induced then or I could go home and see if my water breaks on its own. We called our families and decided to wait and see, we also didn't bring any of our nicely packed things so we wanted to go home.
We got home about 6:00PM. Mom and Dad McDonald were on there way up with Derek and Kenzee and Mom and Dad Anderson were also on their way over along with Becky! I decided to get my mind off of what was going on and get myself ready. I curled my hair and did a little makeup- all the while Kody was timing my contractions, they were about 5 to 6 minutes apart, but not consistent. I was still feeling really good, so home was good for us!
When Mom and Dad Anderson and Becky got to our house we were just killing time. We made dinner and decided to play some card games. After about three hours (about 10:00) I was having contractions often, still not consistent. When I was having the contractions Kody or Becky would press my hips to help counter act the pressure... it really helped. Becky was pressing and I was telling her that it was most comfortable for me when I was in child's pose, so I got there and we heard a pop sound as the baby punched me. Becky, Kody and I all looked at each other and they asked me what that was. As I sat up, I said I wasn't sure and I realized my water had broke. We all got so excited and Kody ran to the kitchen to get a hand towel for me, we soon realized that was not enough! Mom and Becky helped me upstairs and Kody and Dad grabbed the bags. Kody was all smiles and so frantically excited that everything was happening, all I could see on him was joy. He was so good to get everything in the car so fast. He didn't forget anything. As Becky closed the door she told me to put on some music and relax on the drive over. I opened my eyes a few times only to see Kody smiling. When I got out of the car the clock said 11:00 PM. It was raining too... Every time I imagined going to the hospital, I saw it being the morning time, just getting bright and sunny. That night was perfect though!
Even though we had just been to Labor and Delivery, they asked us all the questions again. We got a room that we could have a Jacuzzi too (it was a bathtub really). Because my water had already broke the contractions were stronger, pretty much as soon as my water broke they were consistent. In the hospital you aren't suppose to get in the Jacuzzi after your water breaks, so we had to get permission from my doctor, so we waited in the room. It was hard at first to continue the relaxed feeling until Kody started the music and Becky turned down the lights. I started to tense my hands, as soon as I did Kody would tell me to relax and he would hold my hand. Mom was also holding my hand and Dad would rub my feet. Becky would tell me things like “You are doing what your body needs to to get baby here.” Every time someone said “baby” I thought that isn't her name, so I finally said “Her name is Paisley!” I could hear Kody say “That is what I was going to say!”
I was on the birthing ball for a while. I know this is yucky, but it is my birth store... I had the burps. It felt so nice to let it out though, I did apologize after each one though! I also threw up a few times, but it felt so much better when I did. I got in the Jacuzzi after a while, I don't know how long. It was nice, Kody was holding my head and I was worried the whole time that he was going to dip my curled hair into the water... he did. It was okay, but I couldn't stop thinking about it.
I then felt the urge to push. After only relaxing, almost to the point that I was asleep between surges, the urge to push was strong. I needed to get out of the Jacuzzi, but I didn't want to move. Kody and Becky got me out and I crossed the hall to my room. On the way over I saw Papa Jo, Jill and Kenzee. I was so excited that they made it. When we got back into the room I heard Becky tell Betsy (my nurse) that I was pushing and would be ready for the doctor to come in soon. Becky then started to tell me “down and out, down and out”. She also told me sounds were good if I felt it, but they needed to be low and deep. Not high or crying. It really helped!
I realized then that Jill wasn't in the room. I knew my limit was 5 people, and didn't think I was to it yet. I really wanted her there too for her first grand daughter. I also knew how much she loves her son and I wanted her to be able to see him as an amazing husband. I had never seen him so happy as I did that night and I wanted him to have his family share it too. When she came in I think she was playing with my hair, that was relaxing. I also had to have someone holding both of my hands while I felt a surge and I couldn't have them covered at all. I freaked out once because my hands were covered, but Kody realized why and helped me get the blanket off.
The next thing I remember was Betsy telling me I was at a 10, but not yet 100%, so if could control my pushing then she would call in the doctor, who I thought was already there, but in another room. She told me to push and I did and then she told me to stop... and I did! I was so happy I could do that! Becky started to tell me down and out and I had to say it out loud too. I repeated it over and over and had to visualize it in my mind. Paisley was moving down and I was helping her out. This whole time I wasn't feeling like I was doing much, I felt like my body was controlling what it knew to and Paisley was doing what she needed to to come.
I then remember Betsy leaving for just a moment and then Kimberly (my doctor) coming in and telling me she needed to turn on a few lights so she could see better. I opened my eyes for the first time since coming over from the jacuzzi to see her. There where a lot more people than I thought. My sister Beth came at some time and I saw her then, plus a lot of other people. My doctor is a cute shorter blonde usually kinda spiky hair and a dolled up face. When she came in she had a few spikes on top and shinny lip gloss that was it! I loved it! I told her “Hi, I am so glad you are here!” She told me thanks and the same! She then told me a few other things, but I couldn't hear her, I told her she needed to be louder and she told me to “Push”. Kody at this time was laying on the bed pretty much with me, well he was sitting on it. He had his arm around me and was letting me sleep on his shoulder between surges. I felt that if I could sleep between surges I would have more energy to push when I needed to and it wouldn't help for me to do anything during the contraction, it was going to happen either way. I pushed for about five hard pushes and Kimberly asked Kody and I if we think she had hair. We quickly said “No chance!” She told us we were wrong, she had a lot of hair. We were shocked. Kimberly told me to push and I felt I wanted to stop for just a second and she told me to keep on going so I did. I then felt all the pressure I had felt from after the walk, all the weight that was on my hips and pelvis, all the everything that was uncomfortable release at once. I let out the biggest sigh and I felt amazing! I then felt the most love I have ever experiences as Kimberly quickly placed this white funny colored baby, still attached, on my chest. She was screaming and wiggling, but all I could see was Kody and our baby. She was perfect, we held her close together and just smiled for what seamed like an hour. They took Paisley to the back of the room, I could still see her, to get cleaned a little. I needed a few stitches, they were not comfortable! But I just focussed on my baby in the back of the room and how I was going to be able to hold her and snuggle with her and Kody. My stitches were minor. I was also given pitosin, which helped me feel better faster. Beside the pitosin after birth, the only other thing I had was a helpock start (just a ready needle in case of an emergency). Also because I was a natural birth mom, in my birth plan I asked the nurses to ask me my comfort level instead of my pain scale. It was nice to not have to think about pain. I used the Hypno birthing methods to practice or for my pre-birth classes. It sounds funny I know, but I really think that you have to be prepared if you are going to do a natural birth, just saying you want to won't work. You have to know you can (even if it is in the back of your mind). Going into the hospital earlier that day I wouldn't have been able to tell you that I wasn't going to have an epidural. But putting in my mind good thoughts, and positive thinking of birth right before it got hard helped me stay focused and I didn't ever feel that I needed the epidural, so I didn't get it. At one point I asked my sister in law to tell me I didn't need it because... and had her finish that thought for me. She just said, you are in control and your body is doing what it needs to to have Paisley here safely. You don't need anything to control something you are already controlling. our body will work with your baby to do what it needs to to get baby here. That was the only time I felt a little doubt or anything besides relaxed, and it only lasted for a few moments. Kody said that even then it seamed that I was still totally calm and had things under control.
We left the labor and delivery about 5:00AM and I didn't sleep the whole next day, I tried, but I was so excited and I was on a natural high that I felt amazing. The next night though, I was really ready for sleep. The nurses came in just for Paisley to eat and then we got to sleep again. We had to go to a feeding class on Sunday, but after that we were able to go home. We were so excited to leave. Looking back on it now I can't believe we did it!
Paisley was born at 4:15AM and weighed in at 7lbs 1oz and was 19 ½inches long.
Labor from time water broke to birth was 5 hours 15 minutes, pushing time was about 30 minutes.

Our amazing Little Girl came on Saturday Morning May 22nd, at 4:15. She weighs 7lbs 1oz and is 19 1/2inches long. As you can see she has lots of beautiful hair- that was a shocker to us all! She is perfect and doing really well. We are good too- Labor only totaled about 5 hours and 15 minutes from when we got to the hospital and it wasn't bad before we got there. In short we are so happy to say Daddy Mommy and Baby are all going home today. We'll post more pictures soon!

We really are all packed- I think! There's my bag, our baby bag, and Kody's bag too. The car seat is all set up and I read the manual a few weeks ago with Kody, so we know the rules. I think we are ready... Yep, I hope we are ready!

Kody painted our second bedroom a few weeks ago and magically it became our 'Baby Room' I love it!

Her room is all ready! I got baskets today for the changing table slots. They are really cute, and look good in the room. We are so excited!

Last week my sisters and mom gave us a baby shower in Tremonton- It was so fun to see everyone and get even more prepared for our little girl. Thank you again to everyone that was there for us- it was so fun!

This is the cutest swimming suit ever made, our niece Shandlie gave it to us. Good choice!

We got a jogger/car seat so we can go places safely! And it is super cute!

Really, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to everone who has helped us get ready for our baby girl!

We are so excited to be parents- to see our little girl and to hold her in our arms. The pregnancy has been good- I would even say nice. I haven't been sick, I love feeling her move, car rides aren't my favorite, but still nothing I wouldn't do. Kody has been wonderful, making sure I am comfortable and feeling good. He is so good to help with anything I need- he even said he'll paint my toes for me! I love him and I am so excited to see him as my baby's Daddy! So baby girl, it's a little early right now, but we are ready when you are!

3rd Trimester

The end is in sight! We are in our 3rd trimester of our pregnancy- 29 weeks! We went to the doctor this passed Friday and she said everything was looking really good. She knows the position the baby is in, she said she'll move around (she moves a lot already!), but it's good how she is now. She is growing, and her heart beat is really strong and sounds great.
We are so excited to see our baby, to find out who's nose she has, who's lips she has, who's eyes she has. I know we still have a few weeks, but the first part of the pregnancy has gone so fast, that I know this end part is going to fly!

Yesterday afternoon Kody decided to go up into the Wellsville mountains nearby to snowshoe for awhile, but ended up using his snowshoes for digging instead of hiking!

He had quite the adventure trying to get the truck out of the ditch that it kept sliding into, and with the help of some tree branches under the tires he even had it out for a second...before it went right back in. By then it was dark so we got our brother in law Jake to bring his big huge Dodge to pull him out, but ended up nearly tipping the bigger truck over into a canal and getting both trucks stuck instead! In the end, after lots and lots of shoveling, the boys managed to come down the hill safely with both trucks intact. What a scary night!

We got a pretty good snow storm here last night so we wanted to post this video of our crazy dog Teddy after he had been in the backyard for a couple minutes. Watch for the way he can't even bend his legs when he goes up and down the stairs!

Baby Baby Baby

We are having a baby GIRL!
We found out on Friday, but we had our full ultrasound this morning and got this picture.

She is really healthy from all they can see and is 7-9 inches long. At the first ultrasound on Friday she was very active but at the one this morning she was being stubborn and wouldn't move her hands from her pretty little face. We side with her, it was 7:00 AM and she just didn't want to wake up!
It was so exciting to see her and hear that everything is going really well! We are looking forward to see her face to face!

This is our Tree in our cabin- just kidding that is our living room! Perfect size though!
Here's our tree before we chopped it down! It was perfect- covered in snow and all alone! Ted wasn't looking at the camera cause he was worried that a tree stump was going to attack us. Who knows, maybe there was a wild thing in it!Kody caught this fish out at Bear Lake with some friends. We showed it to all our family with a picture of the ultrasound so this picture didn't get the credit that it deserved. With that said my husband is an amazing fisherman!
This is Ted the weekend that he got his shadow! Hewie and Teddy are attached at the hip when we go to St George now. He loves his puppy!
Kody's mom Jill (far right) and her running friends came up for the Marathon here in Logan in September. We got to see them and follow the race! It was really fun. We made this sign for the run- I thought it was so funny!

We celebrated Teddy's 1st Birthday in October (same as ours) but with doggy treats and peanut butter. It took him about 30 minutes to eat, but he wouldn't let us get near it!
Ted got a bad hair cut (once again!) so I took a before and after in the same picture! I cut the one on the right- I was pretty proud cause it looked so much better and Ted was so good for me.
We painted our bedroom- This was a total BLA to TA DA!! Kody had to sand off the finish on the wood- it took all day and made him a little dusty!

We took Jay and Becky's kids to the Children's Museum in Salt Lake City a few months ago. Hannah was so funny... and cute!

We grew a garden- these were our mini corns that we had. They were so good, but baby size. The picture of the pumpkin was a dinner we had with our friends Char, Nate, Amy and Abby.

Christmas 2009!

Kody and his Dad and brother went trapping and got this big beaver on Saturday. Pretty big!
Teddy and his shadow! This is Hewie, he is a Maltese. He joined the family about 2 months ago- and he and Teddy love to play whenever we get together. They are so funny!
Christmas morning back rub. On Christmas morning us kids can wake up as early as we want, but we have to rub Papa Jo's back until he decides it is time to go to the tree. Gage got in on this years too- I've got to say Papa Jo has a lot to look forward too!
Kody and his cousin Macy at the family Christmas Eve dinner. Every year we have a big dinner all together and the kids exchange gifts with each other. We also sing Christmas songs to bells and sing Happy Birthday with a cake.
The night before Christmas- new pj's! Kenzee (Kody's sister) and her husband Derek, Kaden (Kody's brother) and Kody and me (and Baby). It was late and we were all pretty sleepy!

My sister Sue and I were able to go to an early amazing sale of the JJ Cole Collection here in Logan. One of my way cute friends works for them and she got us a ticket to go the day before the actual sale so we didn't have to fight all the crazies! We had fun and got some super cute things! Here are a few of the things that I got for our little one...

I got this bag, but orange and pink instead of red and cream and it's main color is brown. I love it- it's a little more girly than neutral, but I figure that I am going to be carrying it so it can be girly even if we have a boy!

I got a set of these straps for the car seat so it doesn't rub on their little faces- a gray and white one, and a super cute girly one, just in case. If not I figure it will make a cute gift!

This is a BundleMe. They go over the car seat like a shell to keep the seat clean and the baby warm- we'll need this up here pretty much year round! We got this gray one and a brown one! They are the cutest ever!

Oh Baby!

Yep! We are having a baby! We are so excited to start our little family, and our baby will come in May. We don't know if we are having a boy or a girl, but we are excited for whatever we get!

Kody and I found out in September, but we wanted to surprise as much of our family as we could! Kody had to talk me into not telling anyone- I tried as hard as I could and he was right it was totally worth the wait!

We had a really fun Halloween Party with our friends in Logan the night before Halloween. Here are a few pictures of that night. The next night (actual Halloween) we went to Jordan and Whitney's and had a murder Mystery Dinner. It was so much fun. We were mobsters who didn't really know much about each other before the dinner, but as soon as it was over we found that one of us was a murderer! (I'll post pictures of that night when I get them!) We had a really fun weekend a few weeks ago with Kody's Mom and Dad and his Grandma and Grandpa Cox. We got to show them around Logan. Grandma and Grandpa Cox lived here while Grandpa went to school for a little while, so it was fun to have him tell us how things had changed. We also went out to dinner at the Blue Bird, which was here when they were too. It was fun to shop around downtown and go to the farmers market with them. We love all four of you and are so grateful for the support you give us. Thank you for everything you have done and for traveling so far to come see us. We love you all very very much!

Kody in a beautiful Valley

Kody and Kaden tested their survival skills while we were down. They started in Pine Valley went to the top of Forsythe and back to Pine Valley

Kaden stepped on that tree and it snapped- that's what happens when you are a giant!

After their hike- yeah they were a little dirty!!

Shandlie and McKayl, my oldest sisters girls came with us this time to St George for a little get away. We went shopping for school, hung out at the cabin and went to Vegas. They are way fun to do things with! Thanks girls for coming!

We drove down the strip in Vegas- Shandlie and McKayl had never really been so it was fun to have them reaching over to take a billion pictures.

The real reason we went to Vega was for Grandma and Grandpa McDonald's 50th wedding anniversary! It was really fun- we had a whole pig and got to hear lots of fun stories about their life this far together.

Yesterday we had a Bugs and Critters Day. We took a hike up Logan canyon where there was a kids learning center. We saw turtles, snakes, big spiders and other bugs. When we got home Kody built this fire and we had hot dogs and S'mores.

Just thought we'd let you all know some of the fun stuff we've been up to the past week or so!

White Pine is just shy of a 4 mile hike to a small lake past Tony Grove in the mountains here above Logan. It was really fun to backpack in and camp, catch fish and have a warm fire. This is our second year of hiking in with our friends Jordan and Whitney, along with Adam DelToro this time around, and we plan to keep it a tradition every year.

We've also been working on cleaning up our backyard and taking care of our little garden. Here's a little video of the yard where the garden is now before we cleaned it up.
And this is after cleanup!! No seeds in yet in this one. Amy and Abby- neighbors Kody and Adam and I have done a lot of work to get it to this point!
And now look! The seeds are all in and it is looking more like a garden now!

At Noah's birthday we also got to meet Heidi's second boy, baby Ross. He was so sweet!

It was Noah's birthday and we got to celebrate it at Grandma Kathy's a few weeks ago. He was so sleepy, but really cute!

I was on the wrong side of the fire, but I thought this was a perfect picture. Teddy jumped up on that rock to be closer to Kody. I love our little family!
This was our dinner. That's right- our plates were tree bark! It was so good and didn't burn at all. Kody made our fire like a stove- it worked so well!
Kody made us breakfast- oatmeal, it was so yummy!! He made our fire after it was so rainy. I have my very own Bear Grylls!
